Sip for a Better World!

Welcome to your favorite tea home! We're glad you're here!

Comptoir BantuDesi is more than a tea company—it is a tribute to roots, resilience, and reconnection. Founded by Verlaine-Diane Soobroydoo, our brand is proudly women-led, purpose-driven, and shaped by the agricultural legacies of her two ancestral lands: Africa and India.

Our name brings together two powerful worlds—Bantu, evoking the strength and soul of the African continent, and Desi, representing the vibrant, healing traditions of the Indian subcontinent. Together, they form the foundation of a new kind of tea company—one that places people, purpose, and the planet at the heart of everything we do.

We work directly with women farmers, smallholder cooperatives, and regenerative farms across Africa and India to source teas and herbal infusions that are grown with care—without chemicals, without exploitation, and without losing sight of cultural knowledge. By prioritizing women in our sourcing economic model, we ensure that the hands who nurture the earth are also empowered to transform their communities.

At Comptoir BantuDesi, tea is more than a drink—it’s a ritual, and a celebration of lineage. Each blend carries the stories of women cultivating futures from the soil. Each sip invites you to reconnect—to land, to self, and to a slower, more meaningful rhythm of life.

We are committed to sustainability not just as a trend, but as a responsibility. Our sourcing is eco-conscious, our partnerships are long-term, and our vision is expansive. We dream of building a global tea movement rooted in dignity, welness, and economic freedom for women farmers —one cup at a time.

Thank you for being part of our journey!
