PRESS RELEASE

Comptoir BantuDesi Shines at Paris Tea Festival 2025: A Celebration of Women, Wellness & Ancestral Excellence

Paris, France – June 2025

Comptoir BantuDesi, the premium tea house rooted in ancestral wisdom and social purpose, made its highly anticipated international debut at the Paris Tea Festival 2025 this June. The event served as a powerful platform to present its signature collection of ethically sourced, whole-leaf teas — and to reaffirm its unwavering commitment to centering women farmers at the heart of the wellness economy.

Throughout the two-day festival, Comptoir BantuDesi welcomed hundreds of tea lovers, wellness practitioners, and buyers from across Europe and beyond. Visitors were invited to experience a refined tasting ritual featuring five signature blends, each telling a story of origin, culture, and resilience. From the rolling hills of Bakongo to the earth of Tamil Nadu, each cup served at the stand embodied the brand’s ethos of quality from farm to cup, centering sustainable farming in Africa and India.

Featured Teas at the Festival:

  • Rooibos Ritual Tea – Grounding and earthy, cultivated by women-led cooperatives in South Africa.
  • Soft Brew White Tea – Naturally floral and minimally processed, handcrafted in Tamil Nadu by women tea farmers.
  • Serene Blue Infusion – A calming blend with butterfly pea flower, honoring Indian herbal traditions.
  • Power BulukuTea – A bold, invigorating tea from the Bakongo region in central Africa, harvested by women farmers.
  • Hibiscus Dream Tea – Tangy and vibrant, symbolizing feminine strength and celebration, sourced directly from women farmers in Senegal.

Our founder, Verlaine-Diane Soobroydoo, an international strategist and advocate for gender equity, was invited to speak on “Centering Women at the Source: Towards a More Ethical Tea Economy.” Her keynote highlighted the unseen labor of women in the tea industry and called for a radical shift in the way wellness is understood and consumed.

“Behind every harvest are women whose knowledge has nourished generations, and now the world,” said Soobroydoo." Comptoir BantuDesi was created to honor them from our ancestral lands in Africa and India. We invest in them, and share their stories of strength and resilience through every sip."

The brand’s presence at the Paris Tea Festival marks a defining moment in its international journey.
